Welcome to My Texas House! Thanks for stopping by! My website is the best resource for sources, links, photos, and all the details on my home and the My Texas House brand.
Hi everyone! Welcome to my home! My old home tour was really out of date, with old links and old pictures, so it was definitely time to revamp! I’ve tried to update all the sources and provide you information about paint colors, flooring, tile, as well as links to all of my decor. If there is something you notice is missing or if you have a question about my home, please leave a comment below! Note: I do not have the ability to give out my floor plan/blueprints as they are the copyrighted material of our builder. ALL PHOTOS ARE MY COPYRIGHTED MATERIAL. I have always loved the look of white painted brick on old homes. We chose this white colored brick as an alternative to painted brick. I wanted that farmhouse style look with the dark stained wood shutters and light colored brick and stone. Our builder, Huntington Homes is known for the “Texas traditional” architecture of their homes, and our house is a perfect example of that style with the all brick and stone exterior and the pitched roof lines.
What kind of wood floors do you have?
My floors are engineered hardwood floors. They are a composite style wood flooring, made with a real prestained oak hardwood on top and layers of composite materials that make up the rest of the plank. Its highly durable, moisture tolerant, easy to maintain, and scratch resistant! Our floors were purchased from Kentwood Floors and the color is called Oak Iron Springs (Wild Thing).
What is your wall color? It seems lighter than my sample, did you lighten it?
The majority of my walls are painted in Sherwin Williams Repose Gray. For ALL wall colors click here. When the house was being built, the walls were sprayed with sprayers by our painters and as far as we know they were painted 100% repose gray. HOWEVER, when we purchased a touch up of the paint and painted a few areas, the touch up paint was a bit darker than our walls. So we took a sample of the actual paint from our walls to the Sherwin Williams store and they confirmed our suspicions… We actually have 50% Repose Gray throughout the house.
What are your countertops? How are they holding up because I’ve been told quartzite is not good in the kitchen?
My countertops are a natural stone called Quartzite. The color is called Superwhite. We LOVE our counters and would choose them again if given the chance. And we have not had any staining or scratching issues at all with our counters. There have been a few etches from acidic liquid, but have had some luck buffing them out and they are not noticeable at all. I only use one cleaner to clean my countertops, you can find it here.

When designing this space, I knew I wanted the stairs to be the focal point. I love the large newel post and the dark stained banister. At the top of the stairs, there is an alcove that I had planned to have bookshelves built in to it. We haven’t gotten around to it yet! 😉
Early in 2018, I worked with Joss & Main to redo my dining room! I was able to change out my chandelier, and get new wingback chairs, a rug, and as well as a new sideboard. Unfortunately the buffet/sideboard seen in my dining room is no longer available at Joss & Main, but I’ve linked some similar ones below.
I probably took the most time designing this space. We fell in love with these quartzite countertops as soon as we saw them in the stoneyard. We loved that they have the look of marble, but are more durable and more resistant to stains and etching. After living with our quartzite counters for over 2 years, we would definitely get them again if given the choice. We have a few small marks that can be buffed out, put overall the slab still looks glossy and beautiful. We have had no issues with staining or scratching at all. In our experience, quartzite was a great choice for our kitchen!
