Welcome to My Texas House! Thanks for stopping by! My website is the best resource for sources, links, photos, and all the details on my home and the My Texas House brand.
Hey guys! Well, I decided to change up our playroom once again! As our kids get older and their interests change, our playroom has had to grow with them. We had a large empty area in the middle of our playroom which was mostly being used for my youngest to spread out all her toys. So I decided to add a little functionality to the space by bringing in a table and chairs. I envision this table being used for putting puzzles together, doing homework, or working on projects. But today, to bring a little holiday cheer to our playroom, I partnered with World Market to create a little festive holiday dessert party in our playroom!

When picking out the table and chairs for this space, I looked for something that would be study and practical. I found this farmhouse style table at World Market. I love the detail on the legs and the rich color of the wood. It’s extremely sturdy an well made. It could definitely double as our main dining table if I ever want to switch it out with our other table! It is an extension table too, so it has an extra leaf to allow for up to seating for 8! The table has a great matching bench, but I decided to go with farmhouse style chairs instead!
These gorgeous gray wood and rattan french farmhouse chairs were the perfect fit for this table! I have always loved this style of chair, so I was so excited to find them at World Market! I love that they are well made and sturdy, but aren’t too heavy to make it difficult for the kids to move them. The rattan seat is wipeable, which is perfect for a chair being primarily used by the kids! I may even switch out our kitchen nook chairs for these to see how they will look since I love these so much! You guys know how I love to play musical furniture in my house, and constantly switch things up! 😉
To add some holiday cheer to our new playroom table, I found the most adorable tablescape decor at World Market! From these vintage inspired Christmas mugs and plate sets, to this fun red pom pom table runner, there was so many cute holiday tablescape items to chose from at World market!
I also love all the pretty bottle brush trees that World Market had this year. I think I bought just about every style of tree they had this year! I’ve amassed quite a collection of bottle brush and mercury glass trees! 😉
The wood bead chandelier in our playroom is also from World Market!
As I look forward to the new year, I’m thinking of other ways to update our playroom to make it more age appropriate for our kids as they get older. While we love our little play kitchen area. I think this space may be getting a little makeover soon. Kayla is getting to tall for this play kitchen and for this little house as well. I think adding a sofa and some other comfy seating would make it a nice “tween hangout” space! Kayla can still use her little play kitchen, but I think we’ll move it into her room.
I hope you enjoyed my little festive holiday makeover in our playroom. Be sure to check out World Market‘s wonderful selection of holiday decor and entertaining products, as well as their affordable and quality furniture! Thanks for stopping by!
