Welcome to My Texas House! Thanks for stopping by! My website is the best resource for sources, links, photos, and all the details on my home and the My Texas House brand.
Christmas morning, while magical for the kids, is always a tad stressful for parents. If you’re like me, you stay up way too late wrapping presents and can barely function on Christmas. So fixing a fancy breakfast for the kids in the morning is usually the last thing on my list! But today, I partnered with The Home Depot to show you how you can create an easy and festive breakfast for your family on Christmas morning!
When I was brainstorming for this post, the first thing I thought I would need was a new set of cookware! My old set of pots and pans were wedding gifts which means I’ve had them for over 17 years!!! It was definitely time for an upgrade! I found this really great and reasonably priced 8 piece copper cookwear set on The Home Depot’s website! I love the beautiful copper finish and that it came as a set with 5 different sizes of skillets and pans with lids.
This cookware set features Allumi-shield which is a durable aluminum with 2-Layers of Non-Stick Ceramic Coating. This allows for healthier cooking and super easy clean up of the pans! It also has a magnetic bottom to help with evenly distributing the heat. They are even oven safe! By the way, the pots are clearly just set up for display! I didn’t cook with them all on the stove like this! ????
Cooking with the pans has been really easy! No baked-on batter when we made pancakes. On Christmas morning you don’t want to fuss with a bunch of hard to clean pots, pans, and dishes so it’s a huge bonus that these pans are so easy to clean! Speaking of pancakes, I know it’s far from gourmet, but on Christmas morning (and many other mornings as well) I like to use this ready made batter for pancakes! It’s so simple to make yummy pancakes this way…just add water, shake well, and you’re ready to start cooking! Your kids won’t know the difference and on Christmas morning, who has time to make anything from scratch! You want to spend your time enjoying the magic of the day with your family!
For my Christmas morning tablescape, I found these gorgeous hard plastic plates and bowls sets on The Home Depot’s website! The plates come in three different sizes…small appetizer, medium salad, and larger dinner size. I love that they are stylish, yet are also kid friendly since they are virtually unbreakable! I also used these pretty gold trimmed napkins and pretty champagne (or orange juice) glasses (similar glasses here) to complete the look!
For the centerpiece, I wanted to do something that was whimsical and didn’t involve my normal centerpiece go-to component…flowers. So I used several different size apothecary jars and placed small ceramic houses, mini trees, and cute deer ornaments inside them! The snowy look inside the jars is from this fake snow product! I also used battery operated dot lights to give the centerpiece a little twinkle!
The menu for this super easy, no fuss, Christmas breakfast also includes store bought donuts and muffins served on a bar cart to make it feel extra fancy (similar bar carts here and here)! I also served vanilla yogurt garnished with fruit and granola! It’s a quick, simple, kid-approved meal that will keep you out of the kitchen and instead spending precious time with your family on this special day!
I love the products that I got from The Home Depot for this post! Everything is such great quality and so affordable. Make sure you you check out The Home Depot’s huge selection of home decor and furniture!
