Welcome to My Texas House! Thanks for stopping by! My website is the best resource for sources, links, photos, and all the details on my home and the My Texas House brand.
I know some of you are not quite ready to start decorating for Christmas yet! That’s ok! I get it! But I’m of the opinion that the longer the Christmas season the better! I love the feeling of the holidays. The traditions we share as a family and the memories of this time of year are some of the most cherished times of my life. I’m all for making that feeling of peace, love, and joy last as long as possible.
That’s why on November 1st at our house, the Christmas decor comes out, the TV is glued on the Hallmark Channel, and Christmas cookie baking becomes our favorite past-time! And I’m so excited this year to be partnering with Cost Plus World Market to decorate my kitchen for Christmas and to tell you guys about a awesome collaboration between Cost Plus World Market and the Hallmark Channel. Cost Plus World Market helped design and decorate some of the sets for the one of the Hallmark Channel movies! So cool, right?
All season long we will have the TV turned on to my favorite channel during the holidays, the Hallmark Channel. I love all the new movies that come out for Christmas on the Hallmark Channel. Hallmark Channel Christmas movies always put us in the Christmas spirit. They are just feel-good movies. I got hooked on them last year and my husband and I watched just about every single one!
I’m really looking forward to the Hallmark Channel original movie, “Cherished Memories: A Gift to Remember 2” which premieres on November 24, 8pm/7c. I saw the original movie, “A Gift to Remember”, last year and I’m so excited for this sequel. I love that Cost Plus World Market worked with the Hallmark Channel to decorate the sets of this movie for Christmas! Click here to see some of the items they used to “deck the halls’ of this movie set! I’ll be watching and trying to spot some of the Christmas decor I used in my kitchen! Let me know if you spot something too! And be sure to tune in to this new Hallmark movie starting November 24!
Here’s some information about the movie:
A year after Darcy ran over Aiden, his amnesia is gone but not their love. Now she’s gotten him a first edition signed copy of his favorite book, Patricia Highsmith’s Found in the Street, for Christmas, perfect since that’s where she found him – under her bicycle! Aiden’s also creating a wonderful gift for Darcy, a carved replica of her hometown, just like the one her dad carved for her mother. But Aiden’s gift, which includes a carving of Darcy’s beloved rec center, which is in jeopardy of closing, holds another big surprise, which might just sweep her off her feet.
Actors: Starring: Ali Liebert, Peter Porte and Tina Lifford.
Tune-in to watch: Sunday, November 24th 8:00PM/7:00C
Cost Plus World Market is one of my all time favorite home decor retailers, especially for holiday decor. You guys are already familiar with my many kitchen items from Cost Plus World Market including my barstools, cutting board, and mug holder. For the holidays, I love to go all-out with my Christmas kitchen decor. With my open concept home, it just makes sense to carry the theme and color palette of my Christmas decor into the kitchen!
I have been using mini wreaths on the back of my barstools at Christmas for the past few years. I found these gorgeous eucalyptus and cotton wreaths at Cost Plus World Market. I tied the bows to the top piece of the barstools to attach the wreaths.
The eucalyptus and berry garland and berry and pine cone vine wreath above my stove, along with the Christmas tree wall decor on my backsplash are all from Cost Plus World Market as well. I love how the vintage look of the sign and how the greenery really pops against my white cabinets.
One question I get a lot this time of year, is how I attach wreaths and prints to my cabinets and tile. To do this, I use Command Strip Hooks for hanging just about everything at Christmas. Make sure you let the hook sit for a while after applying the adhesive tape, to make sure it’s set in place before you try to hang the item.
One of our favorite family traditions during the holidays is baking and decorating Christmas cookies. My mom has an amazing Christmas cookie recipe we often use. But if you’re just wanting the kids to decorate cookies, Cost Plus World Market has some great pre-made Christmas cookies for decorating. They have such a great selection of Christmas baking products and Christmas food and drink items in their stores.
Cost Plus World Market also has the best cookie decorating supplies! This sprinkles kit was the best I’ve ever seen! My kids loved using all the different types of sprinkles and candies.
Don’t forget head over to your local Cost Plus World Market to check out their amazing selection of Christmas decor. Click here to find the Cost Plus World Market closest to you!
