Welcome to My Texas House! Thanks for stopping by! My website is the best resource for sources, links, photos, and all the details on my home and the My Texas House brand.
Hey guys, I’m so excited to reveal this year’s Christmas Home Tour: A cozy, traditional Christmas. After last year’s all neutral Christmas decor, I decided to go in the opposite direction this year and add a bold pop of color.
Adding the pops of red to my home this year really brought such an amazing festive feeling. And while I love the magical and glamorous look of my all-white Christmas decor from last year, this year’s decor just feels like Christmas. So without further ado…here’s my Christmas Home Tour. All sources are linked below the photos!
For my Christmas entryway this year, I decided to continue the red theme I used in my family room. I didn’t want it to be overwhelmingly colorful, so I just added pops of red with the ribbon and pillows. The garland I used this year was actually a fresh garland I found at Williams Sonoma. It was so thick that I didn’t have to double up my garland like I normally do. I attach my garland to the railings with zip ties. And no, I’ve never had issues with the zip ties scratching my wood railings.
The tree I used here is from Balsam Hill and is a 7.5 foot tall, slim frosted fir tree.
Like I mentioned, I wanted to give my Christmas decor a fresh new look this year, so I decided to use red ribbon and new red and white pillows to add a festive Christmas-feel to the space. I love how cozy and warm the space feels with the color and all the greenery.
The Christmas tree is from Balsam Hill and is the 9 foot Frosted Balsam Fir. I also used mostly Balsam Hill ornaments on the tree. I’ve linked the ornaments here and here.
The mantel garland is a combination of several different garlands including this pre-lit garland and a fresh garland from Williams Sonoma. I saved a tutorial on how exactly I attached the garland to the mantel in my Instagram Story highlights.
Christmas Kitchen
I did an entire Christmas kitchen post prior to this one, so you can check that out here, but you can see that I again continued the pop of red theme into the kitchen this year. Luckily my new red Kitchen Aid mixer worked with this theme! The mermaid lace white bowl with my Kitchen Aid mixer is also linked.
This is the Lady Bird runner in Driftwood. You can find out more about the My Texas House by Orian rug collection here.
For the playroom, I kept the the palette soft and neutral. My theme for this space was a “winter wonderland” and I just love how it turned out. I just posted an entire blog post on this space and all the Balsam Hill products I used. But I think I could’ve put paper ornaments on this stunning 9 foot Denali white tree and it would’ve looked gorgeous!
I linked all of the other products seen here including the furniture and rug in the slider above.
I did a whole blog post on my new Christmas bedding that I’ll be linking here soon, but in the meantime, here is how I decked out my new 12 foot Balsam Hill tree! I went for a gold theme in here, but I may decide to add a few pops of red in here later in the season for a little change!
