Hey I'm Erin
Hey guys! Do you decorate your home for Halloween? I never used to decorate for Halloween before I had kids! I usually decorated for Fall and then skipped right over Halloween to Christmas decor. But because my kids absolutely love when we have cobwebs and skeletons around the house, thought I’d get into the spirit of Halloween and show you some fun, spooky, and affordable mantel decor all from Walmart!
If I’m going to do Halloween decor it’s going to be inexpensive. I don’t want to spend a ton of money on decor that only is up for a couple weeks! Luckily, I found tons of cute decor for Halloween on Walmart.com! Walmart’s Halloween Shop has so many fun decor and costume ideas for the whole family.
The first step of installing my Halloween mantel decor was to hang the creepy looking gauze drape. The gauze drape came as a kit with the glitter bats surrounding the fireplace. I had already added command strip hooks to my mantel for my Fall garland, so I simply left those up and attached the mesh cloth. I love the effect that the gauze adds to the fireplace!
Next, I added some faux cobwebs. No Halloween display is complete without them…although I’d have to admit that they are a pain to work with and stick to everything. I find that it works best when you cut small pieces of the cobwebs and stretch them out until they’re quite thin before applying to your mantel. I got this package of cobwebs on Walmart.com.
The black bat cutouts make a big impact on any Halloween decor display. Most of these bats came from this glitter bat and gauze kit, but you can also buy a package of the bats separately. They have a small adhesive strip on the back of each bat.
These black lanterns are also from Walmart and have the perfect spooky Halloween look! They’re very affordable too and at only Walmart. I also added some pumpkins, gold candle holders, and black candlesticks to complete this cute Halloween look! The whole display took me about 10 minutes to create. Quick, easy, and affordable….that’s how I like my Halloween decor!
My kids favorite part of our Halloween decor is the addition of our cute skeleton mom and skeleton baby. They have been popping up in various situations all around the house. I have to admit, I’ve been startled more than once coming into the room with the skeleton standing there! I found these skeletons both on walmart.com. Their joints move and the large one is 5 feet tall.
Jessie’s ready to trick-or-treat in her cute little teddy bear costume. To be honest, she seemed humiliated by her costume so we didn’t make her stay in it. She sure did make an adorable bear though! Walmart has some super cute pet costumes you can check out here!
