Welcome to My Texas House! Thanks for stopping by! My website is the best resource for sources, links, photos, and all the details on my home and the My Texas House brand.
Hey friends! One of my favorite things to do during the holiday season is to host (and attend!) holiday dinner parties! It’s so fun and festive to get together with your family and friends and celebrate Christmas and New Years Eve! Today, I’ve partnered with Walmart (one of my new favorite places to find amazing affordable, yet high quality home decor…see my recent posts featuring beautiful Walmart products here and here), to show you some fabulous and thoughtful personalized gift ideas to express your gratitude and wow a special hostess this holiday season. I will also give you a peek at my modern glam Christmas transformation I did in my dining room to hopefully inspire you to be the hostess with the mostess this holiday season!
This post is sponsored by Walmart. The reviews and opinions are my own. You can find out more about this site’s privacy policy and disclosures here.
You know when you walk into a holiday party and you can tell it must have taken the hostess hours upon hours in preparations and set up, not to mention the amount of money spent on food, drinks, and decor..??? Well, you never want to show up empty handed to a party like that. Show that hostess that you appreciate the time and effort that goes into hosting an epic holiday party! The most thoughtful and memorable gifts that will really show your appreciation is a personalized gift.
Walmart has a HUGE selection of holiday personalized gifts and decor items. From stockings, doormats, ornaments, and coffee mugs, there is a gift option for just about anyone on your Christmas list. When looking through the personalized gift items on walmart.com, I found a wide selection of cheese boards and serving boards that I think would make the perfect holiday hostess gifts.
My personal favorite personalized hostess gift idea was this acacia wood and slate charcuterie board. I love that it’s size makes it a practical hostess gift. You can have your hostess’ first or last name, her monogram, or even a meaningful word or phrase engraved on the board. I chose to use our last name and the year we were married (i.e. the year this family was established) as an example!
This was my first time creating charcuterie board of any kind. Y’all it’s not as easy as it looks (and I experimented with different arrangements)! I’m definitely a charcuterie novice! Even if you don’t have any parties you’re planning to attend this holiday season, having this fun accessory to use for your own parties would be great to have on hand!
This Christmas themed slate serving board would be another amazing and thoughtful hostess gift. I love the small rope handles and the hostess’ name engraved very subtly on the right. This particular board has a holiday theme with the “fa la la la la,” but below, I’ve linked several other slate serving board options from Walmart that would be great hostess gift options.
Attending a more family orientated holiday party? Get the host family a fun personalized ornament with everyone’s name on it! I had this adorable cup of cocoa and marshmallows ornament created with my family members’ names on it! I love that we will have a little keepsake in which to remember this year. I’ve linked several other personalized ornament options from Walmart.com. These would also be great gift ideas for kids this Christmas as there are numerous different types of sports and activities to chose from that would fit with a child’s personality or interests.
The Perfect Flocked Christmas Tree & Modern Glam Dining Room Decor
Finally, here is a look at my holiday dining room decor to hopefully give you some decor ideas for when you host your next holiday party. First I added this stunning 7.5 foot flocked pre-lit Christmas tree from Walmart. This tree is such a statement piece! I love the natural looking flowing branches and the bright glow of the lights. It really is my favorite Christmas tree in my home when it comes to the style. The best part about this tree is the price! It’s only $179, if you can believe it?! Such a bargain for an high quality tree!

I chose a black, white, and gold theme for my dining room this year to contrast the neutral theme throughout most of my home. I also thought that this decor could transition well into a New Year’s Eve party! This theme was inspired by the black and white ribbon I got several years ago. I found similar black and white ribbon on Walmart.com! Als0, I love to do in order to save myself time and energy when throwing a large party, I used disposable plates, napkins, and silverware!
The flowers in the gold vase are actually all faux flowers purchased from Walmart in-store! I also added a table runner made out of just wrapping paper! You don’t have to spend a lot of money on decor and flowers to create a beautiful tablescape for your guests!
Lastly, I added some holiday pillows including this gold stag pillow and a fun pom pom throw to give the room a cozy feel. This stag pillow and throw are from Walmart and are both under $15! I found a great selection of pillows and throws at Walmart! I linked a selection of my favorites below!
Make sure you are ready for all the fabulous holiday parties you’ll be attending this season with a thoughtful, unique and personalized gift. And if you are throwing you’re own holiday party, remember that Walmart has an amazing selection of beautiful Christmas trees, home accents, pillows, and throws to create a beautiful space for your guests to enjoy!
