Welcome to My Texas House! Thanks for stopping by! My website is the best resource for sources, links, photos, and all the details on my home and the My Texas House brand.
Hey friends! As I’m always mentioning, my house is a constant work in progress. Decorating an entire house takes time! And after three years, we are STILL not done!! But I finally got around to doing some major refreshing/updating of items in my living room!
I have had the white round pedestal table next to my sofa forever and it was actually cracked on the base. I had picked this table up years ago at a garage sale and only paid $40 for it! But with it being broken and literally hanging on by a thread, I knew I needed to replace it before it came crashing down on someone!
Luckily, I found the perfect table to replace this one on The Home Depot’s website! This gorgeous balustrade table is the like the little twin sister to my coffee table. Normally, I don’t do matchy-matchy when it comes to furniture pieces especially with living room tables (I think using a variety of shapes and wood tones creates warmth and interest in a space!). But since I already had so many different wood tones in this space, I decided that having a table that complemented and even looked exactly like the coffee table wouldn’t be a bad thing. I think it helps bring the space together and make it look more cohesive!
The Home Depot has such an amazing selection of home decor and furniture! If you haven’t checked out the HomeSullivan and Home Decorator’s Collection on The Home Depot’s website, you are missing out! You can also search The Home Depot’s room inspo collection where you can look for your personal design style (farmhouse, boho, modern, etc) and find the links to all the decor and furniture items to create the perfect look for your home! It makes shopping for your home so easy!
To further update my living room, I added these gorgeous blush linen pillows and this super soft blush throw. They are such good quality and very affordable (the pillows even come with nice feather down pillow inserts!). I love using soft blush pink in the spring time to give my space a bright, fresh feel!
Finally, I decided to update the two other side tables (also available on The Home Depot: round table here and rectangular table here). When I ordered these tables last year they worked well with the gray washed coffee table I had at the time. Also, you can see from the left picture below, that they are actually a lot more gray in real life than they appear on the picture on the website. However, after getting this new coffee table, which has a much warmer wood tone, I felt they kind of clashed with each other! So I thought that an easy fix was just to paint them white!
To create the new look for these tables, I took them outside and spray painted them white using this spray paint from The Home Depot which has a primer included. It only took about 5 minutes total! So easy! I love the transformation and I think the white color of the tables work so much better in the space now!
I hope you liked this little refresh of my living room! It’s amazing what a new table, a can of spray paint and a couple new pillows can do to freshen up a space! Thanks so much to The Home Depot for partnering with me on this project! Make sure you check out The Home Depot when you are refreshing your home this spring and you’ll be so amazed with their huge selection of gorgeous and affordable home decor and furniture!
