Hey I'm Erin
I finally completed our playroom and I’m so excited to show you how it turned out! This playroom project was a challenging one for me for several reasons. First, the space is very large so it took a lot of components to complete. Second, I wasn’t as motivated to work on the space as I was other areas in my home, so it sort of took the back burner to those other projects. And third, I knew I wanted to do an accent wall and I knew it was going to take forever! ????
But I finally started tackling the space last fall. The first issue I addressed in our playroom was our toy storage issues. We already these IKEA storage units, but I needed bigger baskets to hold the massive about of toys we have. I found these wood bins at target (Wood bins link) and the striped bins at the Container store (Striped bin link) (Similar striped bin). I love that you can stuff them full of toys and you can’t tell!! ????
Chosing a rug for this space came next. I wanted to keep the feel of the space whimsical, but not too babyish. It also had to be gender neutral since I have both a boy and two girls who use this space! I found this gorgeous rug from RugsUSA.com. I loved the rich blue colors and the vintage look of it! I thought it would work perfectly in my space! Here is the link to the rug: Rugs USA Bosphorus BD07
The accent wall took me a couple days to complete. The arrow decals are from Urban Walls. They are easy to apply, but the measuring is time consuming. Once the wall was complete, the project really started taking shape. I ordered the chandelier from World Market, picked out these white linen curtains from IKEA and got the teepee at Target (Link to Teepee). We got shelves from Ikea to create a little library for the kids’ books. The my hubby helped to install the curtains, Chandelier and wall art and the project was complete!! I still hope to tile the backsplash of the wet bar in the space…but that will have to wait a bit!???? Check out all the pics of the completed playroom. I included a complete list of products used in the space at the end!
